ECONAR® Energy Systems - Residential Case Study
Overholser Residence - Mora, Minnesota
Richard and Deloris Overholser installed an ECONAR GeoSource Heat Pump in their Mora home in 1990. They were so impressed with their savings that they have saved and forwarded the ECONAR company their electric bills for heating and cooling their home for the last nine years. Richard stated that his wife and he are very satisfied with their GeoSource Heat Pump system, “The savings alone are terrific, plus the comfort can’t be beat.” They do not have a back up system. During the first three years they kept the thermostat at 69º (a throwback to the fuel oil days), and eventually increased it to 71º during the winter. The electric bills follow below.

The results are a total heating and air conditioning cost of $3,374.36 for the nine year period. That averages out to only $374.93 per year. At Overholsers’ previous residence, they heated with fuel oil and stated they often had monthly payments of $300.00, and were still cold all the time.
